本稿では、2013年以降の月次データを使って、日銀の量的緩和によるマネタリーベースの引き上げが、日経平均VIに与えた影響に関する時系列分析を行う。まず、Lin-Logモデルによる分析は、日経平均VIとマネタリーベースの間には、負の関係があることを示す。また、直交化インパルス応答関数分析は、マネタリーベースの引き上げに対して、日経平均VIは有意に低下することを示す。また、VARモデルの推定にもとづく動的予測は、マネタリーベースと日経平均VIは、将来、安定的に収束することを示す。本稿の主要な結果は、日経平均株価を追加して行った3変数の分析においても頑健である。また、3変数による分散分解分析の結果は、日経平均VIは日経平均株価の予測できない変動を高い割合で説明することを示し、日経平均VIに対するARIMA検証の結果は、投資家心理には短期予測性があることを示す。本稿の実証分析の結果は、米国において、リーマンショック後に行われた量的緩和が、投資家心理を改善したとするイベントスターディ分析による先行研究の結果に整合的である。よって、本稿は、量的緩和が、日本において投資家心理の安定に寄与したことを示す統計学的根拠になる。本稿では、Stataが有するグラフィック機能を活かしてデータ分析から得られた結果を視覚化する。
